June 28: Day by Day with Father Bill
THIRTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
In keeping with the spirit of today’s homily, and to recap, I like this reflection on hospitality very much. Sadly, I do not know where I got this from way back in 1986 (don’t think I’m a hoarder…) so I cannot give credit where credit is due. For that, I apologize.
HOSPITALITY…
…the creation of free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend.
…to offer space where change can take place.
…to offer freedom not disturbed by dividing lines.
…to open a wide spectrum of options for choice and contentment.
…to create a friendly emptiness where strangers can enter and discover themselves as created free: free to sing their own songs, speak their own languages, dance their own dance, free also to follow their own vocations.
HOSPITALITY is not a subtle invitation to adopt the lifestyle of the host but the THE GIFT OF CHOICES FOR THE GUEST TO FIND HIS (HER) OWN WAY.
HAPPY SUNDAY!
