MINISTER OF ADULT DISCIPLES
Summary:
The Minister of Adult Disciples is given particular charge of helping adults grow through events and small groups, and equipping them to intentionally grow in their relationship with Christ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Invite, encourage & equip a volunteer team to effectively minister to adults.
- Develop, direct, and coordinate discipleship formation for adults in the parish.
- Teach and integrate the Discipleship Pathway into parish life, ministries, programs, and services.
- Refocus existing programs/relationships and/or create new groups to better align with the Discipleship Pathway.
- Coordinate with the Office of Missionary Discipleship and collaborate with regional parishes with shared discipleship experiences (Alpha, Called and Gifted, Entrust Retreat, RCIA, etc.)
Discipleship Committee
- Coordinate with the Adult Discipleship Committee and collaborate with Parish Staff to develop strategic planning and visioning: setting goals & direction, evaluating existing ministries and creating new ones.
Small Groups
- Recruit, and train leaders of small groups to select and obtain curriculum, lead small groups, and accompany small group members. Provide ongoing formation and leadership development for participants.
- Work with parishioners to connect them with groups where they can grow.
RCIA and Sacramental Preparation
- Develop a team of catechists to lead catechumen and candidates who are preparing to receive sacraments of initiation.
- Collaborate with the Minister of Worship to plan and execute the particular liturgical events of RCIA and the sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation for adults.
Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelors in Religious Studies or Theology or equivalent work experience.
- Active and vibrant Catholic faith life
- Ability to train group leaders
- Ability to develop and nurture small groups

MINISTER OF LITURGY AND MUSIC
Summary:
The Minister of Liturgy and Music ensures the quality of liturgical celebrations and music that enhance the “full, conscious, active participation of the faithful” of St. Mary Parish in collaboration with the Pastor and Minister of Liturgical Music.

Liturgy General Responsibilities
- Plans, prepares, and oversees all parish liturgies with the Pastor, Minister of Liturgical Music, and Worship Committee.
- Collaborates with pastoral team and volunteers who are directly involved in various rites and sacramental celebrations, e.g., RCIA, First Eucharist and Confirmation, Children and Youth liturgies, etc.
- Organizes scheduling of liturgical ministers.
- Oversees minister assignments at the weekend Masses and Holy Days.
- Coordinates training of liturgical ministers.
- Oversees preparation of worship aids and screens for all liturgies.
- Co-chairs the Worship Committee with the Minister of Liturgical Music.
- Serves as consultant to parishioners for planning sacramental liturgies, e.g., weddings and funerals, and non-sacramental liturgies, e.g., Stations of the Cross, Divine Mercy Novena, etc.
- Oversees Decorating Committee throughout the liturgical year.
- Orders liturgical supplies, schedules care for liturgical linens.
Music General Responsibilities
- Leads or co-leads specific parish choirs and musical ensembles in collaboration with the Minister of Liturgical Music.
- Recruit, train and sustain musicians and choir members.
- Assists with preparation for accompanists and choir members for liturgical celebrations.
Music Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree, Major or Minor in Music preferred.
- Previous experience in leading a choir preferred.
- Knowledge of various music styles (especially contemporary, and praise and worship) as they apply to Catholic worship.
Liturgy Knowledge and Skills
- Formal Training in Theology or Religious Studies or two years or more years of experience in liturgy is preferred.
- Someone with a strong understanding of the Mass, the liturgical year and sacraments will also be considered.
- Ability to lead and train liturgical ministers.
- Intermediate computer knowledge in Microsoft Office required
